"Having gone through the brake
fluid, oven cleaners and caustic soda 'solutions', finding
Strip-A-Kit was a nice change. It's viscous enough to hold its
place (saving 'good' areas
of paint) and strong enough to dig through layers of enamel, acrylic or
lacquer paints so
you use less of it. On top of this, it smells nice!
There's no tough cleanup as with brake fluid - SAK rinses off easily
leaving bare plastic.
I found that within 5 minutes, 90% of the stripping was complete - a
few more minutes
took care of the more detailed areas and a toothbrush helped get SAK
out of all the nooks
and crannies, allowing it to remove all the paint. And through it all,
not one rivet, hood
ornament or anchor chain lost its fidelity or detail.
Simply put, Strip-A-Kit is a purpose-made product that works as
advertised. It is easy
to use. environmentally friendly and economical.
It's all I'll use to make an otherwise dirty chore easier - even fun!!"

"Twenty-two years ago, I bought a USCG Monogram HU-16 kit. I started
to paint it
with a brush, using Testor's enamels. I painted the red on the nose
and wingtips over
the white plastic. It took two coats to hide the brush marks, and
still didn't look that good.
The model was put away at that point.
Last summer I dug out the old kit with the terrible brushed on red
paint. I had read
about SAK and I decided to give it a try because I din't want to mess
with toxic 'home
remedies' like oven cleaners or brake fluid. So I ordered a
bottle of SAK.
When the SAK arrived, I followed the directions and applied it to the
22 year old enamel.
I was a little light on the application of the goop, yet it took about
80% of the paint off.
A second attempt on the tough spots got 99% of the paint off the model!
I was very pleased with SAK - - I was able to use it indoors and didn't
have any nasty leftover
material to dispose of. Since then I've used SAK a couple of times to
strip off acrylic paint jobs
that didn't turn out right. I like the fact that it takes
the paint off and I can start over with
bare plastic."

"Go on and keep your oven cleaners, Castrol superclean and other
makeshift strippers.
I found 'Strip-A-Kit' and it's like having a body shop in a bottle!
I've used it to take
the paint off of just a fender or the hood on a car model, without
having to dip or soak
the entire body. You want to remove chrome? It could have been
stripped while you
were reading this!
Getting ready to do a bare metal paint job? Prep the surface with SAK
to remove any
mould release agents or other contamination. ( Paint sticks better to
plastic that has
been 'deglossed' with Strip-A-Kit.)
A single bottle will easily do an entire 1/48th single engined aircraft
model and you'll still have some left over to use on other
projects.
Keep a bottle on hand. You never know when you might need it !!
